I was inspired to do a series of Portraits of LGBTQ individuals after the horrible shooting at a gay club in Orlando Florida. I wanted to show the world what the LGBTQ community looks like because there is such a limited representation in media that usually conforms to basic stereotypes. All the individuals who participated in the project identity under various sexual and gender labels, or no label. My goal was not to normalize any of the subjects I simply wanted to represent who they are and what they do that make their lives in our world matter.
